Before you get started, be sure you have: Email address on the account, Password
It is possible to merge multiple accounts on AT&T. One account needs to be designated as the primary account with primary billing responsibility, and then the other account can be transferred to the primary account. AT&T requires a new agreement that the new owner accepts full responsibility of paying the new wireless account, monthly bill and contract.
(Note: When two accounts merge the user who has an upgrade can keep their upgrade even after the transfer between the accounts)
Before transferring billing responsibility, make sure to check the requirements to ensure you are eligible to take over billing responsibility. Below are the requirements for the primary account holder/account:
The account must be at least 60 days old
GoPhones accounts are non-transferable
The phone, tablets etc must all be paid and active
The original account must not be overdue on payments
The new owner of the account must also:
Be at least 18 years old
Choose from the designated AT&T plans
Pass the credit evaluation for AT&T to accept the transfer and also pay the transfer fee which is anywhere from $18 to $36 dollars.
Accept the remaining terms in place with all current cell phones, pads etc.
If primary account holder passes all of the above and would like to continue, follow the steps listed below:
Step 1: Log-in to your account with your User ID and Password through the AT&T Customer Center (https://www.customerservice.att.com/index.jsp )
Step 2: Under the option "Billing, Usage and Payment", select "Transfer Billing Responsibility"
Step 3: Select the account(s) you would like to transfer the billing responsibility from
Step 4: Select the lines within "Transfer billing responsibility" which means that you must understand the Terms and Conditions of paying for bills of lines that are all merging.
Step 5: Fill out the request form then click "Submit"
Step 6: Click "Continue" and accept the Terms of Agreement and then press "Submit"
Step 7: You should be all set and shouldn't have anything left to do! Nice! Hopefully this all helps- let me know
